JOB SUMMARY
The Experienced Microseismic Processor will be responsible for the acquisition, processing and delivery of results for microseismic imaging contracts within the Americas Region. The candidate will act as Project Manager for microseismic jobs and execute the full range of project activities such as pre-survey design, data acquisition, customer liaison, data processing, and report preparation of final results. As the business base expands, the candidate will be expected to train and mentor additional supporting staff and participate in the budgeting process. The job position reports to the Microseismic Operation Manager.
KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
The Microseismic Processor must have high computer literacy coupled with an engineering or science-based skill-set. Experience in processing of microseismic data acquired in passive monitoring for oil & gas well development operations is required. Experience should include interpretation of micro-seismic data in support of hydraulic fracturing and stimulation with demonstrated skill in tracking fluid movement and fault/structure delineation. Candidates with a strong background in VSP or seismic surface processing may be acceptable. A familiarity with seismic acquisition systems and geomechanics applied to fractured systems would be a plus.
Field Experience: Previous work-history in the field and a demonstrated ability to make independent decisions is required. The successful candidate will direct and participate in microseismic field acquisition surveys conducted from land-based rigs.
Processing Experience: Real-time processing of microseismic data acquired in passive monitoring for oil & gas well development operations is required. Active involvement with professional societies (SEG, EAGE, SPE) is a plus.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
This position requires a minimum of a Batchelor’s Degree in a Geoscience, or applicable Discipline, or equivalent industry experience in lieu of degree: 3+ years experience with BS Degree, 2+ years experience with MS Degree, 1+ years experience with PhD. Experience should include interpretation of micro-seismic data in support of hydraulic fracturing and stimulation with demonstrated skill in tracking fluid movement and fault/structure delineation. Candidates with a strong background in VSP or seismic surface processing may be acceptable.
Fluent English - both spoken and written. Ability to work in a multi cultural environment.
Spanish or Portuguese fluency is a plus.
